Tim Posgate Hornband featuring Jazz-Tuba legend Howard Johnson releases Cd with summer tour!
The Tim Posgate Hornband featuring Howard Johnson has a new self-titled Cd on Guildwood Records.
They are launching it with some summer jazz festival dates including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Stockholm (Sweden) and Pori (Finland).
Howard Johnson has worked with Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, John Lennon, and Gil Evans to name a few. He is a multi-instrumentalist best know for his incredible tuba work and as leader of the tuba ensemble; Gravity.
The band also features Canadian jazz stars; Lina Allemano (trumpet)
and Quinsin Nachoff (tenor saxophone, clarinet and flute)
Tim Posgate is best known as a bandleader, and jazz composer with a unique guitar style that he has taken with him every year for the last ten years on his Canadian tours. Posgate has performed at all the major Canadian jazz festivals, released six Cds on his own label and runs an annual music festival in Toronto called the Grand Festival of Autumnal Happiness.
